While evaluating the finish quality of cabinetry is subjective and difficult to quantify, the type of finish used and the application process is not. In order to get the longest lasting protection for your cabinetry a finish that has antimicrobial and ultraviolet (UV) protection is preferred. These finishes will resist yellowing caused by sunlight and mold and mildew. These finishes go by a variety of names but are generically called catalyzed conversion varnishes and are baked on for maximum durability and protection.
